Custom Home Design & Renovations in Brisbane
Ironside Designer Homes is a Brisbane-based building design studio specialising in custom homes, renovations and extensions. With over 20 years of industry experience, we combine creative residential design with practical construction knowledge to deliver thoughtfully considered homes tailored to our clients and their lifestyles.
Our approach brings together residential building design, detailed 3D visualisation, technical documentation and the coordination of planning and building approvals. From initial concepts through to construction-ready documentation, we guide clients through each stage of the design process.
Whether you're creating a new home, transforming an existing property or collaborating with us as a builder or developer, our focus remains the same: considered design, clear communication and solutions that work in practice.
With experience across both design and construction, we offer the flexibility to collaborate with your preferred builder or provide construction services for selected projects.

Meet the Brothers Behind Ironside
Ironside Designer Homes is a family-owned building design studio founded by brothers Josh and Jesse Ironside, bringing together over 35 years of combined experience in residential design and construction.
With Josh leading the design process and Jesse bringing extensive hands-on building expertise, our approach combines creative thinking with practical construction knowledge. We believe great homes should not only look beautiful, but also function effortlessly and be thoughtfully designed for the way people live.
Working with homeowners, builders and developers across Brisbane and Townsville, we specialise in custom homes and renovations that respond to Queensland's subtropical lifestyle, embrace natural materials and connect indoor and outdoor living.
Our clients have the flexibility to engage Ironside for building design and documentation, collaborate with their preferred builder, or explore our construction services for selected projects.

Studio
Our design studio is nestled in the vibrant inner-city suburb of Albion, perfectly positioned to service the neighbouring areas we love to work in. This central location allows us to collaborate closely with homeowners across Brisbane’s inner and outer suburbs, enabling prompt site visits, clear communication, and seamless project management. The studio itself is a space for collaboration, where ideas are explored and refined. Using our in-house, state-of-the-art 3D visualisation software, we can walk you through your home in real time—allowing you to experience the design well before construction begins. This considered design process enables us to deliver creative, tailored solutions that reflect the unique character, lifestyle, and aspirations of every home we design, build, or renovate.
